Li-Jen Chang's Award-Winning Design Fuses Opulence with Environmental Intimacy

The design inspiration for Urban Forest came from the large ceiling windows in the luxuriant lobby. These windows not only manifest exclusive aesthetics but also provide a great view of the surrounding environment. The well-designed public area reflects the quality of both life and humanity.

What sets Urban Forest apart from other designs is its location in an emerging redevelopment zone in Taichung City. The apartment complex is adjacent to a park and prioritizes environmental protection in its construction materials, aligning with urban development plans.

The realization of this design is rooted in the principles of simplicity, extravagance, and environmental intimacy. The public reading area, decorated with irregular suspending lamps, presents a bookish charm. The space, measuring 599 square meters, exudes an atmosphere of poise, opulence, and fashion.

One of the challenges faced in this design was incorporating the concept of a green building into a favorable lifestyle. This was achieved by creating a balance between the night sky, the reflection on the pool, and the greenery scenery. The lounge area, with its prevailing fashion and colorful furniture, manifests invigorating and animated characteristics.

The Urban Forest project was completed in January 2017. It was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This accolade is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
